The place is a must visit if you are willing to explore something new while in Mussoorie.
The waterfall is a beautiful one, the water is so clean that You will be able to see the stones and pebbles at the bottom very clearly.
Not many people go to this place as you need to walk down atleast 20 minutes to reach the waterfall. And coming back is even more difficult due to the steep road. So this place is a no no for elderly and kids.
After reaching the fall there's only one shop that too a stall kind of. The shop owner is very kind, he would request you not to litter around and keep the fall area clean. I would request you to kindly help the guy buy ordering something as not many people visit the fall.
Also I would recommend you to hire a two-wheeler so you can go as near as possible to the fall without walking. We went there by car, so we had to park in between and walk much to reach there.
The place is good but please don't visit this place with a vehicle. It has a very narrow road where 4 wheelers can't get through and if you go by 2wheelers the road is very steep and broken. It is a place where you won't find anyone a bit scary.
This is a little know beauty and that’s the charm of the place. Located outside the city, reaching this waterfall needs an extremely skilled driver to take you half way and then the remainder is a a 20 odd mins of walk through the local terrain! , But when you reach the falls you will appreciate the efforts were worth it. Thankfully the beauty is not commercialised much thanks to it being difficult to reach.
This is a must go if you love to walk and experience the charm of nature. There’s-a guy who makes Maggi, Bun omelette and nice Masala chai and sells water bottles. Outside of that nothing more to eat there!
From the Jharipani Cafe , on taking left, you will come on a secluded cemented road, which will lead you to the falls. You can only take your vehicle half way for now. But the construction is in progress and soon people will be able to take their vehicle all the way to the falls.
For now, you will have to walk atleast 1km to reach the falls, then trek a little through small puddles to reach the falls.
It looked as if we are discovering some hidden paradise. The sound of the falls were audible from a distance but the falls were not visible. It is an offbeat place so not a lot of people come here. Thus there are no shops, eateries or changing rooms around.
We had loads of fun. We took bath standing directly under the falls and played in the cold water. There werent many people so it wasnt crowded at all.
You can take a picnic basket , mat and have a little picnic by the fall :D
Scheduled waterfall
Can take ur car halfway from the main road , from there u can trek down to the waterfall
Very scenic
Preferred for those who want to avoid crowds
Road to the Waterfall is very steep
Slightly difficulty while returing back to the fall
Great experience. Not for people with kids or old people, since one needs to park the car at a distance of more than a kilometre. There is a very narrow road right upto the waterfall, but there is no room to reverse the car for returning. So one needs to walk a considerable distance downhill after parking the car. Returning uphill will require energy, so don't exhaust yourself while bathing in the waterfall. One can reach right upto the waterfall in a motorcycle, although great caution and expertise is required since the road is really steep, there are no safety measures, and chances of getting help in case of an accident are nil. There is a friendly guy who sells tea at the waterfall.
Situated in the quaint village of Jharipani, about 7 km from the city centre of Mussoorie, is the stunning Jharipani Falls. Its charm lies in its secluded location that is not marred by touristy crowds yet. You can spend hours soaking in the beauty of the falls, clicking good pictures or simply appreciating the views of the scenery around the waterfall including those of the Shivalik range.
You will also find rare varieties of flowers in bloom at the site. The route to the falls is simple and can be easily covered via a car. However, after a certain point, you will have to trek for around 1.5 km to reach the falls.
It's beautiful , it will take 20 to 25 min of walk to reach the fall, but I can bet you will not regret it.We have visited other falls too in musurroie, but beauty of this was out of the world. I guess very few people come here to visit ( as its bit difficult to reach) so place was still very clean and Scenic beauty was add-on. Must visit if you are into treaking.
